The scope of work for the Museum, Lodge, and Monument and Site includes the restoration and the rehabilitation of the three buildings and the site to perserve the existing structures, to make them code compliant and handicapped accessible to the public. Workers had to work 300 ft above ground level suspended by cables and planking system retrofitted to a 200+ year old monument that was not designed for such. Deteriorated granite on monumnet was repaired by pinning existing pieces back onto the monument itself and cutting and repointing mortar to match existing color and texture of historic joints. New site lights were installed without disturbing any archiological conditions that have been perserved for 200+ years. During demolition in the museum discrepancies of design were discovered that necessitated Lumus to assist the architects on site to field fix the support bearing wall and a needle beam to support the 2nd floor. In addition, all new MEP systems, elevator, new fire suppression and fire alarm systemg. An affordable project saving lighting system was proposed, saving money and meeting the historic design.
